Raised in Seattle, Corey’s first experience behind the microphone was at KUGR, her college station at Washington State University, where she received her broadcast communications degree from the Edward R. Murrow School of Communications. Her first jobs were in Bakersfield, CA as an intern for KERO-TV and as a news anchor with KBID-AM 1350, a local big band station.
After six months in California, she returned to Seattle to produce classic rock KZOK-FM’s popular morning show and do weekend overnights. A few years later, she began hosting middays on sister station Kiss 106.1 KBKS.
Corey joined Tampa Bay’s 101.5 The Point WPOI in 2002 as host of the morning show and did middays on alternative sister station 97X WSUN-FM. In the summer of 2011, when The Point dumped its 80’s-based format and went to a current hits approach as Hot 101-5, the Detroit native joined the veteran morning team of Jack Harris and Tedd Webb on 970 WFLA’s “AM Tampa Bay” for a few years, before flipping to sister station Mix 100.7 WMTX to do wake-ups in 2015.
