Jack Weldon
Jack was from New York City and began his career there in the 1920’s as an announcer and actor. After working for many years with the Associated Press, he moved to St. Petersburg in 1958 and became sales manager with WSUN radio, and then local and regional sales manager for WLCY-TV.
He was a former president of the St. Pete Ad Club and a former governor of the Fourth District of the American Advertising Federation. He also held membership with the Broadcast Pioneers of America.
Jack ended his lengthy broadcast career as a salesman and restaurant critic for WPLP. He made his home in St. Petersburg and was 90 when he passed away January 15, 2002.
