Jenny Dean
Jenny began her broadcasting career as an anchor/reporter at a northern Kentucky cable station. From there, she moved to Quincy, IL as an anchor/reporter at WGEM-TV and, soon after, headed for Tampa Bay and a job at Time-Warner Cable’s (now Bright House Networks) Bay News 9.
She is an accomplished singer and entertainer in addition to her skills in television journalism. Before pursuing TV news full-time, she performed at King’s Island Amusement Park north of Cincinnati. Here in the Bay area, her powerful rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” has wowed audiences at games for the Tampa Bay Bucs (where she sang to a sold-out crowd of 65,000 people in Raymond James Stadium), Devil Rays, Lightning, and other local events.
In 2005, Jenny gave up her Bay News 9 anchor chair to do radio news for Clear Channel’s US103.5 WFUS. That ended in December 2012 when the company pink-slipped her along with some other staffers.
Prior to returning to television with WTSP-TV in March 2015, the Cincinnati native pulled a stint with 970 WFLA as a morning news anchor.
