At the age of 19, Tre’ got his first radio job with Tampa Bay’s Y-95 WLCY-FM. Going by the name Pete Jackson (and nicknamed the Tape City Kid), he was responsible for running the public affairs programming and Casey Kasem’s "American Top 40" from midnight to 9AM on Sunday morning. Callahan, the WLKF/Lakeland night man and music director. When he left there in 1985, he returned to Tampa Bay, first to do the music and a 7-midnight air shift (using his real name) at WPDS-FM in Tampa, and then programming and production duties for Bradenton’s WDUV-FM.
In 1989, Tre’ made a life-altering change in his career and moved into Christian radio as promotions director and mid-day guy Peter Lloyd with WJIS-FM in Sarasota. Two years later, he was on the K-LOVE Radio Network in Santa Rosa, California doing afternoon drive and the music.
