Larry Anderson
His father, a disc jockey at a station in Washington Court House, Ohio, got Larry his first radio job while he was still in high school, hosting a Top 10 show for kids.
In 1981, the Junction City, Ohio native came to Tampa Bay and worked with WDAE (middays/PD) and WSUN. He had previously been midday personality and PD at WGR/Buffalo, Billboard magazine’s 1973 Station Of the Year. After leaving the Tampa area, he returned to WGR as its GM.
At the time of his death at age 58 from cancer in 2002, Larry managed Clear Channel’s cluster in Wheeling, WV.
