John DeHaven
John was from Clarksville, Ohio, and had been in radio two years when he joined Knoxville’s WKGN in 1965. After serving with Uncle Sam’s U.S. Armed Forces Radio/TV, he went on to study telecommunications at Ohio University and work at the college’s AM/FM stations.
By the early 70’s, he had moved to Florida. His Tampa Bay gigs included stints with WILZ, WDAE, WFLA, WQYK, 96 Fever WOKF, WYNF, and WHBO, which he flipped to oldies in April 1982.
John took his work back to Ohio in 1988 and, except for some occasional voiceover work, has been retired from radio since 1997.
