Paul Ciliano
Paul Ciliano was a 15 year-old in Norwich, CT when the radio bug bit him. His first job was doing afternoons at WSUB in Groton, followed by a position with WNLC in New London. It wasn’t long before he started making phone calls to Hartford’s WDRC, asking if the station had any openings. When it finally did in the summer of 1979, he became the Big D's utility man, Paul Roberts, and hosted various shifts on the AM and FM. And he was only 18.
Other stops included WMJY Long Branch, NJ, Boston’s WMJX, WEZK Knoxville, KEZY Anaheim, CA, WSRS in Worcester, MA; WLNH Laconia, NH, and Houston’s KLTR. In 1993, he began the first of 11 years with Cox Radio in Tampa Bay, where he was PD for WWRM and operations manager for the cluster for six years.
Paul transferred to Atlanta in 2004 to PD WSB-FM, and eventually WSRV-FM, and also to provide consulting for Cox’s adult contemporary stations, but his long run with the company ended in February 2009. His status today (2011) is unknown.
