Carlos Jose Peralta

Carlos Jose Peralta came to the bay area from Cuba, graduating from Tampa’s Robinson High School and later, Hillsborough Community College.  He was a popular radio personality on Spanish-language AM stations since 1977 (AM-1300 WSOL, AM-1550 WAMA, Rhumba 680 WRMD, La Mega 820 WMGG, and Super Q WQBN) and his was the first voice on the air when Tampa Bay's first Spanish-language FM, La Nueva 92.5 WYUU, debuted in 2005.

Although starting out in the afternoons, he later switched to mornings when WYUU became 92.5 Maxima FM. At the time he was let go in February 2011, he was music director for the CBS-owned station. Later that year, he became an on-air personality and program director with WTMP when it made a switch from rhythm and blues to Spanish programming.

Today (2014), Peralta is Director of Programming & Operations for Stardome Media Group, a diversified Orlando (FL) media and entertainment company focusing on the U.S. Hispanic and Latin American marketplace.
