WTWD - A History
WTWD-AM 910 Plant City – Cox Radio sold its five-kilowatt AM-910 WSUN to Salem Broadcasting in 2001, and the call letters changed to WTWD. Its former oldies music format flipped to a Christian talk simulcast from sister station WTBN AM-570 in Pinellas Park.
WTWD operates from 5211 W. Laurel Street in Tampa. AM-910’s three-stick tower site is in Dover (FL) off Highway 574 between Downing Street and Sydney-Dover Road.
UPDATE: Salem announced in September 2023 that WTWD had been sold for $700,000 to Solmart Media, an Hispanic-owned media company.
