Liz Richards

Liz was born and raised in Mansfield, Ohio, the second of four children, and attended Kent State University, where she earned her degree in broadcasting in 1970. Her career started in radio in Cleveland and then moved to television. In the early 80’s, she was the producer for the John Eastman Show on Tampa Bay’s Ch. 10 and from there went on to host her own show.

When the TV gig ended, she turned to Newsradio 970 WFLA, first as a weekend talk show host and then as a regular host in middays. After butting heads with management over various issues and being reassigned to the overnight shift, she left the station in 1989. A sexual harassment lawsuit against WFLA and several employees was filed and wound up taking more than four years to work its way through the system.

After the suit was finally settled, Liz enrolled at the Stetson University College of Law in St. Petersburg and today (2012) enjoys a successful Tampa Bay law practice.
