WOJC - A History
WOJC-FM 93.3 Tampa – Blair Broadcasting’s 100,000-watt WFLA-FM dropped its beautiful music in 1983 and flipped to a country music format as WOJC (Orange Juice Country).
After stiffer than expected competition from already-established country powerhouses WQYK-FM and WSUN-AM, 93.3 flipped to an adult contemporary format in 1984 and returned to its former WFLA-FM calls as 93FLA-FM.
Names from WOJC history include Jim Bocock (GM-1983), Bill Garcia (PD-1983), Bill Campbell (mornings-1983), Frank Ferreri (middays-1983), Vicki Kay (Vicki Patterson 3-8PM 1983), Dave Winter (evenings-1983), Charlie Malone (overnights-1983), and Wilson Welch (chief engineer-1983).
