Daylon Rushing
Daylon was born and raised in Tampa and started his radio career in 1963. The list of stations he worked for over the years reads like a Who’s Who in Tampa Bay radio and included WUSF, WPKM, WYOU, WDCF, WPAS, WALT (afternoons/music director 1967), WLCY (music director-1973), WFLA, WDAE, and WHBO (weekends 1982). His career also took him to WINT/Winter Haven, WMFJ/Daytona Beach, WKKO/Cocoa, and WFUN/Miami.
After leaving the local radio scene, he continued to make his home in the Temple Terrace area of Tampa and broadcast syndicated shows to stations in other markets.
Daylon had been battling health issues for the better part of twenty years and passed away April 14, 2013 at the age of 64.
