Scott Dilworth
Scott was from West Chicago, Illinois and had been a disc jockey since the 1940’s. After moving to Clearwater in 1955 from Sycamore, Illinois, he landed his first job in the bay area as news director for WEBK in Tampa.
From there, he moved to Clearwater’s WTAN and hosted "Scotty's Swing Shift," a nightly request program for teens, featuring the top songs of the day. Through most of the 1960’s he was program director for competitor WAZE.
Dilworth made his home in Clearwater and was 81 when he passed away May 25, 2001 at Hospice House Woodside in Pinellas Park.
