Tim & Tom
Tim Dukes was from Louisville, KY and on-air partner Tom Steele hailed from Rockledge, FL. Both had been on the air at Nashville’s Y107 for about three years before arriving in Tampa Bay in 1989, two weeks into WFLZ’s Power Pig format. After a couple weeks into the 10p-2a shift, PD Marc Chase moved them to 7p-11p.
Tim was the first to move on. In August 1992, he left to take his first programming gig back home in Kentucky. Tom, on the other hand, became music director, moved to afternoons, and stayed on until 1997.
Today (2013), Tom co-hosts the morning “Hawk (Harrison) and Tom Show” for Entercom’s B93.7 WFBC in Greenville, SC, and Tim is the COO of the non-profit Halftime Success to Significance in Dallas, TX.
