Jim Quin
Jim (James Quintin Roop, Jr.) was born in Wildwood, Florida, and was a lifelong resident of the Sunshine State. He was a crime investigator with the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office before launching a radio career which spanned over 30 years as a producer and on-air personality Jim Quin for Tampa Bay’s CBS stations. One of his on-air gigs was with U92 WYUU in the 1990’s, hosting the popular show “Breakfast with the Beatles.”
After retiring from broadcasting, Jim returned to law enforcement as a private detective and passed away at his home in Oxford on March 10, 2013 at the age of 63.
