Mark Starling

Mark is from Washington, DC and ventured into Lakeland radio as “Mark Stevens” in 2002 to join WLKF’s three-hour morning talker “A.M. Polk County.” Due to his somewhat unpredictable and “there’s nothing I can’t do” attitude, the show took on a whole new tone and, in 2003, was renamed “Mayhem in the A.M.”

Hall Communications added program director duties for WLKF and sister station WONN to his responsibilities in 2007, but he continued to co-host “Mayhem” with his group of local “characters” who made appearances on the show from time to time. The following year, he left Lakeland, first to fill the afternoon slot at central New York’s classic rock station I-100 WIII, and then to do morning news for Tampa Bay's signature news station, Newsradio 970 WFLA.

After almost three years in Tampa, Mark accepted a full time on-air position in September 2013 with Orlando’s WDBO News 96.5FM. About a year and a half later, in March 2015, he moved to Asheville, NC as the morning show host and news director for News Radio 570 WWNC.
