Steve Alexander

Although born in Blackstone, Virginia, Steve began his radio career while in high school in Fort Myers as music director for country station WHEW-FM and news and board op on Top 40 WMYR-AM. Other early stations included Fort Myers’ Christian WSOR, WALJ-FM in Naples, Immokalee’s WCOF AM/FM, the WINK combo in Fort Myers, and Lehigh Acres’ beautiful music WAYK-AM.

In 1973, while attending classes at the University of South Florida during the day, he filled his nights as the 7 to midnight deejay on Tampa’s WQYK. After receiving his B.A. from USF in 1975, he moved to Flint, Michigan, where he continued his radio career and attended the University of Detroit Law School, graduating J.D. cum laude in 1981.

Today (2005), Steve practices law with Seyburn, Kahn, Ginn, Bess and Serlin in Southfield, Michigan. He still dabbles in radio and, since 1988, has been the host of a weekly blues and classic R&B show on NPR outlet WCBE-FM in Columbus, Ohio.
