Doris Moore-Bailey

Doris is a 1968 graduate of Lakeland’s Rochelle High School and, since the mid 1990’s, has hosted the public affairs program “Update” on Lakeland’s WLKF Sundays from 5 to 6pm. It can also be heard streaming live over the internet at www.Lakeland.net/Update.

Involved in numerous local causes and organizations, Doris is a charter member of the Polk County League of Women Voters and lifetime member of the NAACP, has served two terms as president of the Polk County Democratic Women’s Club, and is president of The Bailey Group, a non-profit youth organization. Professionally, she has been a management services rep for the General Electric Client Business Service Center, a teacher with the East Orange Board of Education in New Jersey, a program coordinator for the North Tyler, Texas YMCA, an adjunct professor at Polk Community College in the English department, the director of marketing for the Heart of Florida Girl Scout Council, and has worked for Lakeland’s newspaper, The Ledger, in the Life department.
