Steve Samet
Samet and business partner George Allen (Florida Community Radio, Inc.) bought Cypress Gardens’ AM-1360 WYXY in 1990 from Seehafer Broadcasting (Don Seehafer, president) and changed it to adult standards/nostalgia WHNR (Winter HaveN Radio). Offices, studios and transmitter site remained on Dundee Road, east of downtown Winter Haven.
Allen eventually bought out Samet before selling the station in 1995 to GB Enterprises (Frankie Grover) who switched to an urban format.
