David Sharp
David was born in Tampa and graduated from Chamberlain High School. But it was in Boone, NC, where he began his career at the age of 13 in the late 70’s at WASU-FM (Appalachian State University).
He returned to Tampa in 1980 and worked briefly for WLPJ (at the time a pop/rock station), then moved on to Plant City’s WPLA, his first job at a commercial radio station, from 1985 to 1988.
Other Tampa Bay stations he worked for over the next 12 years were WLFF (afternoon drive), WEND (news anchor), WBVM (presenter/sales), WRFA (presenter and sales), WLVU-FM (presenter/sales), WBSB Dade City (sales), WDCF/WZHR Dade City/Zephyrhills (operations manager), and WRFA/WZTM (presenter and producer for the sports format). He also did weekends at WWRM-FM Warm 94.9. His last Tampa job was morning news anchor at The Joy FM.
Since 2000, David has been in Australia, working at various stations in New South Wales and Queensland.
