Alicia grew up in Detroit, Michigan, in the suburbs of Motown, and attended the University of Texas at Austin where she studied radio, TV and film. While attending college she spent a lot of time at the local radio station hoping to get her big break into the business. Persistence paid off and led to a part time job and to a career in broadcasting.
Moving up the ladder to better time slots and bigger cities, she made stops at WTIC in Hartford, KNRZ in Houston, I-94 in Honolulu, WWWW in Detroit and an earlier stop in Tampa at Q105 where she fell in love with the Florida lifestyle. Knowing how much she loved the Tampa Bay area, she felt extremely lucky to have been chosen to do afternoons when WSJT was launched in July 1995.
Alicia remained with WSJT until it flipped to an adult CHR format in 2010.
