Chris is originally from Reading, Pennsylvania. He graduated with the class of 1980 of Parkway Central High School in Chesterfield, Missouri and went on to graduate from Florissant Valley Community College in St. Louis.
While his interest in radio began in 1973, he didn’t really get started in the business until 1978 at KCDC-FM, a small community college station in Longmont, Colorado, just outside Boulder-Denver. Since then, his radio career has taken him to St. Louis, Corpus Christi, Texas, and Tampa Bay’s WLFF Life 680, WARM 107, and W101, as well as a stint with Metro Traffic.
Chris got his foot in the door at Paxson’s 570 WHNZ and 102.5 The Point in 1994 and, the next year, was promoted to a position with the company’s new Smooth Jazz 94.1 WSJT when it signed on the air in July 1995. After starting out on the swing shift, he went full-time overnights in 1997, and then two years after that, became news director and co-host of the "Smooth Ride To Work" morning show with George Nix.
14 years later, he left his news and morning on-air positions and opened his own home recording studio where today (2018), he does voiceover work for radio, TV, cable, film, video, etc.
