Kathy Curtis

Kathy is originally from Marquette, Michigan and happened onto radio while in college searching for her business degree. She has worked for many prominent radio stations in Tampa Bay and found her love for smooth jazz in the 1980’s while at Sarasota’s WHVE The Wave 102.5.

In the late 1990’s, she began working weekends at Smooth Jazz 94.1 WSJT and, in 2006, moved to morning drive. She also assisted PD Ross Block as Programming Coordinator and Music Director. Another of her responsibilities was hiring the national recording artists who came to the area for appearances at station-sponsored concerts.

WSJT management no longer wanted a full time employee on staff in 2010 and Kathy was let go prior to the station flipping to a new format. She went on to produce the morning news show for Genesis’ AM-820 WWBA and anchor the morning news for Florida east coast stations WAMT and WIXC. Today (2015), she works with America’s Traffic Network doing mid-day news and traffic for The Answer AM-860 WGUL.
