Zoltan Koppany
Zoltan’s radio career stretches back to the late 70’s with early work at stations in the Cleveland area – The Buzzard WMMS, Disco 92 WLYT, and Zip 106 WZZP. In 1986, at the end of a four-year stretch with the Navy and AFRS, he landed in promotions at Tampa Bay’s 95ynf. During his time there, he studied marketing at St. Petersburg College and, in 1990, got his BA in Mass Communications and Broadcasting from USF.
While living and working in the area, the South Euclid, Ohio native spent many hours doing volunteer work for a number of local agencies, including the Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary, Paint Your Heart Out Tampa Bay, Habitat for Humanity, the Children's Home of Tampa Bay, Red Cross Hurricane/Disaster Relief, and the Shriners.
After WYNF was sold and closed down in 1993, similar jobs followed in Miami (WSHE 1993-95) and Orlando (WHTQ 1996-97), Houston (Rock 101 KLOL), and Chicago (The Loop WLUP, Q101 WKQX, Bonneville Chicago Radio Group, and The Drive 97.1 WDRV).
