Mike Waters

Mike has an industry-wide reputation for masterminding the best bits and parodies in the radio business and possesses an amazing blend of exceptional singer/songwriter skills, wit, and a deep knowledge of pop culture and current events, all of which he combines into creating extraordinary and timely satire material. He can also do a tremendous array of spot-on voice impersonations, from Bill Clinton to “Macho Man” Randy Savage and, because of his talent, the Bubba the Love Sponge® Show consistently has featured parody and comedy elements that can’t be matched.
Waters first met Bubba in the early 1990s while working on the air for WFLZ-FM The Power Pig in Tampa as a comedy writer for morning show host MJ Kelly. When MJ wouldn’t use his bits, he gave them to Bubba to play during Bubba’s night show (1992-1996). Bubba was impressed and promised that if he ever got another morning show, he wanted him on his team.
In the mid 90’s, Mike left to do his own show at a station in the Quad Cities, Iowa, but his material was considered too hot, and he was fired after eight months. Meanwhile, back in Tampa Bay, Bubba was negotiating for a new morning show and wanted him to be part of it at WXTB-FM (1996-2004). The arrangement has worked out well and he’s been Bubba’s sidekick ‘Manson’ ever since.
Waters has been co-host and producer for the Bubba the Love Sponge® Show on Sirius Satellite Radio since mid-2006, and Bubba’s syndicated shows airing on terrestrial stations since January 2008.
