Greg Stevens

Greg Stevens (Greg Straubinger) was born in Buffalo, NY and came to Tampa Bay’s 98 Rock WQXM in 1976 after a half-dozen stints at Buffalo stations while in college, followed by WBBF/Rochester and 13Q in Pittsburgh after graduation. At the Clearwater station he hosted “The Rude Awakening” morning show, remembered for its ‘dreaded morning oldies’ and irreverent treatment of the news. In 1979, he moved on to Dallas, TX for a two-year stint with The Eagle KFJZ/KGEL, and then returned to Tampa Bay to preside over mornings and hold the music director and assistant program director slots at 95YNF until 1983.

He received a B.S. in Radio-TV from Ithaca College (1971-1975), where he was a deejay for the campus radio station, and then picked up his masters in marketing from Webster University (2009-2011).  From 2001 to 2009, he was PD for Cox Radio Orlando’s WHTQ before leaving the medium to become an assistant site manager with Robert A. Brilliant, Inc. Marketing Research at Universal Studios’ TV Preview Center.

Today (2016), following three years teaching at Full Sail University near Winter Park FL, Greg is Program Manager for the Entertainment Business Online Bachelor’s Degree program at the Los Angeles Film School.
