Jack Shell

Jack, from Peoria, IL and the son of a veteran radio and TV broadcaster, landed his first radio job at the young age of 16. His early work included stints with hometown stations WXCL-FM (overnights and promotions assistant) and KZ94.3 WKZW (afternoons, assistant PD and music), as well as 96 STO WSTO-FM in Evansville, Indiana (afternoons), Louisville’s Mix 103.9 WMHX-FM (mornings), and Star 97 WRQQ in Nashville.

In the late 90’s he was heard in Tampa Bay, first doing weekend swing, then evenings at Cox’s WWRM Warm 94.9 FM and sister The Coast 107.3 WCOF-FM. He briefly did swing and production at Jammin’ Oldies WFJO-FM Jo 101.5 before departing for mornings in Louisville in 1999. Since then, other stops have included Mobile, AL as creative services director for Cumulus Media, Nashville’s WSM AM/FM and 103 WKDF-FM, and CBS' WYCD in Detroit where he hosted middays and served as the station’s music director.

Jack left Detroit in January 2016 and now lives in Hollywood, FL. His work nowadays is shared between time with 101.5 LITE FM WLYF/Miami and ShellSound, his full-service audio production business.
