Bob Neil

Bob Neil joined WFLA to do weekends from Zephyhrills’ WPAS in 1977 after two years with the Pasco County station and went on to become 970’s program director from 1980 to 1983. From Tampa Bay, he moved to the post of operations manager for New City Communications in the greater Atlanta and Syracuse areas before joining Cox Media in 1986 as station manager for WSB AM/FM and later, station manager for Tampa Bay’s WWRM.

Returning to Atlanta in 1989, he became VP and GM for WSB AM/FM. Three years later, he was promoted to executive vice-president. In 1996, he became Cox Radio’s CEO, then in 2009, executive vice-president for Cox Media Group.

After 25 years with Cox, Bob retired in 2011 and formed Neil Consulting, a firm providing business services exclusively for the Cox Media Group in their markets, as well as other media businesses.
