Tom Daren
Tom got into radio in college at a 500-watt daytimer then hit other small town stations until joining WMBR in Jacksonville, FL in 1973 to do afternoons. He eventually became PD there, before leaving for Tampa’s WDAE in 1976 to do the music and PM drive. When rumors started up two years later that WDAE was up for sale, he left and joined WFTL in Ft. Lauderdale/Miami where he eventually became program director. Later stops included WTKN/Pittsburgh and WSB/Atlanta.
In 1988, Tom Kennington hired him to work at Walt Disney World, managing promotions and the Walt Disney World radio studios.
Tom retired from Disney in 2008.
