Art Reuben

Detroit native Art Reuben moved to Florida from Lake Charles, Louisiana, in 1964 and acquired Tampa R&B station WYOU-AM 1550 and Leesburg’s WBIL-AM 1410. He returned the Tampa station to a country music format, and moved its former WZST calls to his Leesburg station. In addition to his 35-year career in radio, he was also part owner of a liquor store.

After Reuben retired, he continued to live in Leesburg until his death in 1989 at the age of 59.
