Tama Broadcasting
Tama Broadcasting, Inc. is the largest privately black-owned media company in the State of Florida, founded in 2001 by the late Charles W. Cherry Sr. (pictured here with his sons Charles W. Cherry II (left) and Glenn W. Cherry (right).
Today (2008), its stations include WTMP AM & FM in Tampa, WHJX-FM, WFJO-FM, WJSJ-FM, and WSJF-FM in Jacksonville, WPUL-AM in Daytona Beach, WCSZ-AM in Greenville SC, and WSSJ-FM, WSGA-FM, and WTHG-FM in Savannah GA. It is also affiliated with two Florida weekly newspapers, The Florida Courier in Ft. Pierce and The Daytona Times in Daytona Beach.
