Joyce W. Dae

Joyce was an obscure Tampa Bay deejay who hosted a show called “Dream Date” and played adult standards overnights on WDAE in the early 1960’s. She was also most likely the first female deejay in the Tampa-St. Pete area to have her own radio show.

Of course, the "W. Dae" meant "WDAE." Longtime area listeners who remember the show say that, while she had a sexy voice, she didn't come off as sounding cheap.

So far, we have not been able to discover who she really was. Since her name was specific to WDAE, it’s unlikely she would have carried it with her to another station, at least not in the Tampa Bay area.

However, we continue to pursue information about her with the hope that someone might remember her show and be able to provide us with additional information on her true identity.
