Clair Linn

Clair Linn is remembered for his great voice and “Operation Newsbeat” news broadcasts on WLCY throughout the 1960’s and early 1970’s. However, many don’t realize he was there as early as 1958 doing an afternoon air shift when it was still the old WTSP. Once the calls and format changed to Top 40 WLCY in 1959, he moved into news and remained there for more than a decade until fired in 1973 by new management. Following that, he dabbled in news at various area stations, including country leader WQYK in 1975.

Linn suffered from cancer and died in 1984.
