Bob Baker

Bob became WHOO’s program director when the station dropped its Top 40 format and switched to country music in 1968.

Before coming to Orlando, he worked at stations in the Atlanta area (WAKE 1962-63, WPLO (PD-1965) and with Knoxville’s WNOX. He also did record promotion for a local record label while at WPLO.

Country music entertainer Mac Curtis, who had also worked at WPLO, succeeded Baker as PD in 1969.
