Bob Hauck

Bob headed a group of West Virginia broadcasters who purchased the former WKOS AM-1370 in Ocala in 1965 and turned it into Top 40 WWKE, Key Radio. He was General Manager of the station himself until 1969 before moving to Ashville, North Carolina, where he and his partners had purchased WLOS AM, changing the calls on that station to WKKE.

When Bob returned to Ocala in 1973, his group sought and acquired an FM frequency, 92.9, and built WMFQ which went on the air in 1977. It was about that time that the WWKE calls were changed to WOCA and the format from Top 40 to News/Talk. In the late 1980’s Bob bought out his partners and became sole owner of the AM-FM combo, but later sold WMFQ in 1995. He retained WOCA for five more years before selling it in 2000.

Bob continues to live in Ocala where he plays as much golf as he can now that he doesn’t have to come into the office everyday.
