Tom O'Brien

Tom is from Gardner, Massachusetts and got his start in the radio business as a nightclub deejay. He joined WPCV on Thanksgiving Day 1995 as News Director and co-host of the morning show with Scott Wynn. Tom previously worked for Newsradio WFLA in Tampa and was co-host of the morning show on WQYK.

The successful team of Tom and Scott picked up some impressive awards during their years on WPCV. The duo was named Small Market Personalities of the Year by the Country Music Association in 1998, Florida Country Music FM Deejays of the Year by the Orange Blossom Country Music Association in 2000, and NACMAI Disc Jockeys of the Year in 2001. They also achieved record high Arbitron ratings throughout their run on WPCV.

When Wynn departed in 2001, Tom stayed on and Rob Tanner was brought in from Q-100 in Little Rock to be his partner, followed by Sara Michaels (promoted from the station's night shift) in 2004, and then Roger Todd in 2006. Melissa Moran joined as the third co-host with Todd and O'Brien in 2009.

After 19 years on the air with WPCV, Tom announced his retirement on Sept. 29, 2014.
