Debbie Tennick (Hogan)

Although Debbie’s ambition was to be a TV anchorwoman, she settled for work at a radio station - work which became one of the great loves of her life. Born in Winter Haven, she began her radio career at WONN in the early 1990’s co-hosting the morning show with the station’s Program Director, the late Dick Goleno. During this time she was known as Debbie Hogan.

In 1997, Debbie left WONN to co-host a morning show with Bob Crews on WWRZ-FM, 98.3 The Rose, using her married name, Debbie Tennick. After a year or so, and looking to move up the ladder, she applied for an opening to head up the Promotions Department for all four Hall Lakeland stations, WONN, WPCV, WLKF, and WWRZ, and landed the job.

Around 2000 Debbie and her husband, John, were also working on opening their own restaurant and pub business in downtown Winter Haven. Since this endeavor took a lot of her time, she made the painful decision to leave the job she loved so much at the radio station in order to work on fulfilling her own enterprise.

Today (2005) Debbie and John run Tanner’s Pub. They are also parents to a son, Tanner, and live in Winter Haven where Debbie is involved in a number of civic organizations including the Citrus Center Boys and Girls Club and the Community Redevelopment Advisory Board.
