Tom Shaw
Tom received his B.A. in Professional Writing with an emphasis on Radio/TV from California University of Pennsylvania in 1982 and a year later joined the staff of WIQT/WQIX in Horseheads, New York writing copy and doing production. From 1984 to 1988 he was also Music Director for WQIX. After a brief stopover in a similar position with WNBF/WHWK in Binghamton, New York in 1988, he returned to WIQT/WQIX in charge of all production.
After moving to Florida, Tom landed a job in 1990 as Copywriter and Production Director with Lakeland combo WLKF AM-1430 and WEZY FM-94.1 When the FM was sold off in 1995 and new owners moved the station’s operations to Tampa, he remained with the AM and a year later transitioned to WLKF’s new owner, Hall Communications.
Today (2005) Tom is Copywriter and Production Director for all four of Hall’s Lakeland stations, WONN, WPCV, WLKF, and WWRZ.
