Talk Back

Lynne Breidenbach

Lynne studied communications at the University of Central Florida and started her radio career with the campus radio station. From there, she went on to work for several central Florida stations, including Orlando’s WKIS where she was a producer for the Gene Burns Show. In the mid 1980’s, the Orlando native became the news director at Lakeland’s WCIE, known on the air as Lynne Miller (her maiden name). She worked in press relations for national political candidates involved in the 1986 elections and even tried a hand at politics herself, losing her race by only five votes. After that, she put in five years with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office as its public information officer.

In 1993, Breidenbach returned to radio (her first love) and joined Lakeland’s WLKF as host of its local talk show, “Talk Back.” When the station was sold three years later, she took over the morning show at Bartow’s WWBF.

Lynne formed Breidenbach Media Group in 2003 and began operating Auburndale’s WTWB through an LMA with Carpenter’s Home Church, the station’s licensee. She was the general manager and hosted a local weekday afternoon talk show – a mix of politics, culture, and faith with national and local newsmakers. In September 2006, the show went national into 20 markets across the country. Two years later, WTWB was sold to a group who flipped the station’s format from news/talk to all Spanish. After the initial disappointment subsided, she continued her radio career guest hosting for Orlando’s AM-540 WFLF.

Breidenbach served as an executive director of the Taxpayers League of Polk County and, for ten years, ran LAMB Communications, a media and public relations operation that represented non-profit ministries and conservative political organizations. To add to an already busy schedule, she and her husband, Bill, were also co-pastors of Faith Life Fellowship Church in Lakeland, and created an online radio station (Real Faith Radio) as an offshoot of the church.

In September 2014, Lynne entered Lakeland Regional Medical Center for a planned procedure, which led doctors to discover a much more serious condition. She went to Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa and, the following day, Sept. 23, 2014, passed away at Tampa General Hospital. She was 57.
