Plant City native Charlie Edwards got his FCC
First Class Radio/Telephone license in 1974 and then
joined WGTO at Cypress Gardens to study under 20-year veteran
engineer Dave Schick. He moved to Chattanooga, TN to atttend Temple
University and graduated from there in 1982, and then moved back to Florida
and Auburndale's WTWB to do middays. He went on to do mornings and sales at WMFJ
in Daytona Beach after a stint as station manager for a religious FM in Madisonville,
KY. In 1985, Charllie was hired to bring Haines City's former WHAN new life as
WLVF, recently purchased by the town's Landmark Baptist Church. |
