Cecil B. Douthitt
Douthitt was a preacher at Lakeland's Lake Weir (Wire) Church of Christ and had a radio program that was broadcast over WMBL in the late 1920's. The Ft. Smith, Arkansas native went on to serve 55 years in the ministry as a lecturer-debater, an author of several religious books and hymnal lyrics, and staff writer for the Church of Christ publication, The Gospel Guardian. He passed away in 1971 at the age of 74. |
