Steve Howard

Steve’s first break in radio was at WSIR in his hometown, Winter Haven. He was hired by WONN program director Dave Day in 1984 as an air personality and a year later promoted to PD when Day transferred to WPCV, Hall Communication’s sister station.

The following year, he assumed the duties of production manager for WONN and WPCV, and was later named station manager for all four local Hall stations, which by that time, also included WLKF and WWRZ.  He was also the company’s IT manager.

After sustaining serious injuries in a motorcycle accident the previous January, company president Art Rowbotham announced March 31, 2016 that Steve would not be able to return to work and would retire, ending his 47-year radio career, 32 of those years with Hall.
