The following year, he left for Orlando where to hosted mid-days for three years as Sir Arthur Knight on WLOF. There, he emceed many station-sponsored dances in the Central Florida area while also finding time to attend classes at Rollins College. He quit radio in 1968 to pursue his Ph.D from Stanford University to become a psychologist, and today goes by his real name, Carroll Gaylord (Gay) Hendricks.

He has written 25 books on conscious relationships, conscious business, and bodymind transformation, including bestsellers “Conscious Loving,” “The Corporate Mystic,” “Conscious Breathing,” and “Conscious Living.” Before founding the Hendricks Institute Foundation for Conscious Living, he was Professor of Counseling for 21 years at the University of Colorado, where he began teaching in 1974 shortly after receiving his doctorate from Stanford.
