Don worked on the air in afternoon drive at WPLA in the mid 1980’s. He left Plant City and the radio business after about two years and went to work for the U.S. Postal Service in Lakeland.
In 1988 Don moved his family to the Roanoke, Virginia area and bought a 30-acre farm. He did dabble in radio once more - in 1992 and 1993 - pulling some Sunday afternoons behind the mike at FM country outlet WZBB in Rocky Mount.
Today (late 2005), Don is still a letter carrier and is currently President of the local NALC Union. The kids are grown and on their own and he and his wife, Pam, continue to live on their 30-acre farm.
