Paul Delaney

Paul became the mid-day guy at WWKE in Ocala in 1966. After spending two years there, he moved on to Cocoa’s WKKO (as Mike Green), WMFJ in Daytona Beach and WMEL in Melbourne. Then WPLA in Plant City gave him his first chance at sales in 1971 by offering him an on-air and sales combo position.

The following year, Paul took the general sales manager’s job at WQSR Quad 102½ in Sarasota and spent the next seven years there. He moved to Tampa’s WFLA in 1979 and then became manager of Sarasota’s WYND before leaving Tampa Bay in the mid 80’s for Charlotte’s WSOC AM/FM.

When one of his sons was involved in a serious motorcycle accident back in Florida, Paul returned to Sarasota to manage WSPB-AM 1450. He spent eight years in Orlando as Director of Sales and Underwriting for educational outlets WMFE-TV & FM, followed by a similar position in Tampa at WEDU-TV Channel 3 and sales for Tampa Bay’s News/Talk 1040-AM WWBA.

In 2003 he joined WMEL-AM 920 in Melbourne, starting out there in sales and doing early morning news. He was later elevated to GM when the station moved up the dial to AM-1300 and relocated to Cocoa. He was also a sales rep for The Beach 98.5 WSBH-FM/Satellite Beach in 2008 and did sales and morning news for Titusville’s News/Talk 1060 WIXC .

Today (2010), Paul hosts the show “We Love Brevard” on Saturdays over WMEL-AM 1300 in Cocoa Beach and runs a marketing company for local media and advertisers.
